Dynamo come close to Europa League knock out stage defeating Rennais FC
Dynamo won over Rennais FC in the 4-th matchday of the UEFA Europa League group stage game and increased their chances to reach the knock out stage.
19-years old Vitaliy Mykolenko started the match in the first eleven instead the injured Josip Pivaric. The young Shaparenko took the position in the center while the nominee halfback Benjamin Verbic played as a forward.
The home team played possession from the early beginning of the match and scored the quick goal. Verbic headed after the free kick. Dynamo had more chances to score again they might have made it 2-0, but Koubek intervened to deny Tsygankov's shot. But the first half whistle sealed the minimal advantage of the white and blues.
Khatskevich’s side played great attacking game after the half time but the first counterattack of Rennais could finish with the goal. Boyko smothered the shot of Sarr at the second attempt.
Several minutes after Mykolenko added the second goal to the home side. He headed firmly past Koubek after the free-kick from Tsygankov.
And then the nice finish from the best player of the match Mykola Shaparenko made the score 3:0.
Dynamo couldn’t keep a clean sheet. Siebatcheu got one back late on the break for Rennes.
Kyiv join Astana on eight points at top of Group K.
