Dynamo Kyiv went through to the UEFA Europa League Round of 16

On February 22, 2018 Dynamo Kyiv drew the second leg the UEFA Europa League round of 32 against AEK Athens and went through to the next round thanks to the away goal. In Kyiv at the main sports and cultural arena of Ukraine – the NSC Olimpiyskiy teams made no score - 0: 0.
Taking in to account the score draw in the first leg, Alexander Khatskevich's boys didn’t play actively from the starting minutes. "White and blues" preferred not to dominate but to play on the breaks.

The AEK side could adapt to the winter pitch of Olimpiyskiy and had some opportunities to score.
For all of visitors’ early dominance, it was the hosts who carved out the first opportunity in the middle of the first half. Morozyuk and Tsygankov had a few speculative efforts, but the first man shot above the goals, and the second, and the second was offside. Till the end of the first half the guests acted more dangerously, while Kyiv counter-attacked.
Immediately after the break, AEK steped up a gear and had two good moments to score.
The Greek side was attacking widely and created more space for Dynamo’s counterattacks. At the 84th minute Gonsalez got the ball high up the pitch, but could not beat the goalkeeper, although ball seemed to be in the net.
The draw of the Europa League round of 16 will be held tomorrow, February 23rd.
