Remembrance and Reconciliation Day in memory of the World War II Victims
On November 22, 2004, the UN General Assembly proclaimed May 8 and 9 as the days of memory and reconciliation, as a tribute to all the victims of World War II. For Europe, as for the whole New World, it was a terrible shock.
On May 8, Ukraine commemorates the Remembrance and Reconciliation Day. Today we bow our heads for those who died on the battlefields and in the death camps, in towns and villages. We are all in
unpredictable duty to the fallen in the struggle for the freedom and dignity of man. We pay tribute to the veterans of the Second World War.
Happy Remembrance and Reconciliation Day! We wish you peaceful heaven and harmony!
