Unai Emery: "We have to respect the decision of the UEFA"

The day before the UEFA Europa League the group stage match 5 against Vorskla Poltava, the head coach of Arsenal London, held a traditional press conference at the NSC Olimpiyskiy in Kyiv.

Emery shared his thoughts on match relocation from Poltava to Kyiv and told about the targets of his team before the match.

- We must respect the decision of the UEFA. Of course, we understand that it is unfair to Vorskla, but we have to agree with it. By and large, this decision does not change anything. This is inconvenient for the supporters who need to move to Kyiv, but teams have their 90 minutes on the pitch and need to do their job.

Yes, that was an unexpected decision, we understand that it was a big responsibility for everyone - to relocate the match. We had to change our plans and to train in London. But I think this decision was made for the safety of players and fans. Kyiv has everything to host the match.

Europa League is an important tournament for us and we want to take the first place in the group. We will make some changes in the starting lineup to give a chance to our young players to show themselves, but our goals have not changed, - Emery said.

The Armenian midfielder of gunners Henrick Mkhitaryan who spent a part of his career in the Ukrainian Premier League also took part in the press conference.

- I'm always pleased to come back to Ukraine. I have spent four wonderful years here. I still communicate with my former teammates. Since I was playing in Donetsk, I missed this city. But if we talk where it would be more convenient to play in Poltava or in Kiev, I think that it does not matter a lot. We did a long trip to Ukraine and are ready to play in Kyiv. Although I think that it's an unpleasant situation for Vorskla, because they wanted to play at home.

It is to be recalled that the match will be held on Thursday, November 29, at 19:55 at the NSC Olimpiyskiy.
